What clients say about Scholis.

Why the Grip

One page a day. Finally, an overview.

A weekly planner shows five days at a time, but provides too little space for concrete daily planning. The Grip gives every day its own page with dedicated spots for homework, tests, and tasks.

01

Everything from today in one place

Your child sees at a glance in the morning what needs to be done and checks off what is finished in the evening. You don't have to chase them every night.

02

Undated: start whenever you want

In the first year of secondary school, after the autumn break or just before exam week. No wasted pages and not tied to a single school year.

03

Learning how to plan, not just writing it down

A daily schedule that encourages looking ahead, featuring interviews with role models within the planner itself.

That's how it works

This is how your child uses the Grip.

Morning: see what is scheduled for today on a single page.

At school: write down homework and tests directly on the daily page.

Evening: check off what is finished and see what remains.

  • Space for multiple subjects per day
  • Separate section for tests and assignments
  • Long-term planning for papers and projects
  • Linen hardcover and FSC-certified paper
Created by a teacher

Conceived in the classroom, created for students.

As a teacher, I saw daily that students didn't struggle with ability, but with planning. That is why I developed the Grip: one page per day, so that homework and tests are no longer a surprise.

The structure is built on insights from educational research by Kirschner, Molenaar, and Van Merriënboer, and the planner is recommended by more than 20 schools.

Internal research: 150 students at two schools (Tiel and Amsterdam) used the Grip for two months. 90% achieved a higher grade point average on report card 3 than on report card 2, and 95% of parents would recommend the planner. It is an indicative study without a control group. Read the research (pdf)

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about the Grip school planner.

Can't find your question? Feel free to send us a message.

Is the Grip school planner undated?

Yes. You can start at any time: in your first year of secondary school, after the autumn break, or just before exam week. The planner is not tied to a specific school year, so it works for 2026-2027 and for any subsequent year.

What is the difference compared to a weekly planner?

A weekly planner shows five days at a glance, but provides too little space for concrete daily planning. The Grip works with a daily structure: each day has its own page with fixed spaces for homework, tests, and tasks.

Why 6 months and not a full school year?

Conscious. Filling a daily page only works if the planner remains light and manageable; an entire year in one volume becomes too thick for daily use in a bag. Many families order a second Grip halfway through the year to finish the school year.

Is the Grip suitable for the first year of secondary school?

Yes. The Grip was developed for students from the first year of secondary school to their final exam year. Especially in the first year, where planning is still new, one page a day helps to keep an overview of homework and tests.

What level is the Grip for?

For vmbo, havo and vwo (the Dutch secondary school levels). The daily schedule works for every level and every number of subjects.

What is the difference between blue and beige?

Only the colour of the linen hardcover. Content and layout are identical.

When will I receive the Grip?

Orders are processed within two working days and shipped from the Netherlands; delivery time depends on the country. Shipping is free on orders from €50. If a colour is on pre-order, we ship as soon as the new stock arrives; you can see this when choosing the colour.

Can I return the Grip?

Yes, and it is free. You have a 14-day cooling-off period after receipt, and returning the Grip won't cost you anything. Contact our customer service and we will arrange it.
